Certification

General

In recent decades, no product has been as extensively (scientifically) tested and studied as permethrin-impregnated clothing.

Especially from Germany, multiple scientific studies have been published regarding both the effectiveness of permethrin and any potential health risks.
The most recent publication is from 2017, where the German “Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung” considers permethrin (when applied correctly) as not “sensitive”.

NEN-8333

This is a national Dutch standard that sets requirements for factory-treated permethrin-covered clothing that helps protect against tick bites. The standard concerns covering clothing, where the textile is factory-treated with permethrin, and then covering clothing is made from it. The covering clothing as such helps protect against tick bites, the permethrin treatment is an additional element for this protection.

Dermatest

The company Dermatest GmbH is a research institute in the dermatology field. They work closely with scientists from the Universities in Paris and Bilbao, who are specialized in skin care. Once every two years, we submit our permethrin finish for dermatological testing and assessment by Dermatest GmbH. For the coming two years, we have once again received the certificate “Very Good”.

Oekotex

The Oeko-Tex standard is a testing and certification system for textiles, ensuring that the chemicals used throughout the production process are not harmful or dangerous to human health or the environment. For all our fabrics that we, as Rovince, use in our clothing, we can provide the Oeko-Tex certificate.
