What is Samento?

Samento is the South American name for what we in the Netherlands call a cat's claw. It is a climbing plant with crooked hooks, and the root and the inner part of this plant are used in medicine. The plant has been used medicinally by Indigenous peoples for centuries, but in the Western world, this method of healing has only been known since the 1980s. Samento is used, among other things, in the treatment of cancer, AIDS, arthritis, and Lyme disease.

Samento and Lyme disease

Samento is sometimes used in Lyme disease as a supplement to antibiotics or if the antibiotic treatment has not worked. Samento drops are especially used for Lyme patients who experience chronic fatigue or have a relapse. It can also sometimes have a positive effect on patients with neuroborreliosis or Lyme arthritis.

Effect of Samento on Lyme

Samento stimulates the production of important antibodies, improves nervous system functions, and is also anti-inflammatory. Additionally, the Samento drops help to counteract fluid accumulation around the joints, which often occurs in Lyme disease.
