General Practitioner
After a tick bite, the tick should be removed completely immediately. A red ring may develop on the skin. If symptoms such as headaches, fever, and muscle pain (flu-like symptoms) appear within three months after the tick bite, it is important to visit your general practitioner. They will then prescribe antibiotics. If no ring has developed around the bite and symptoms do occur, the doctor can perform a blood test to diagnose the disease.
After treatment with antibiotics, you are not immune to Lyme disease. It can occur again.
