Advice for packing your backpack
Packing your backpack is one of the most important parts of the trip preparation. Therefore, we would like to offer a good advice for this tough task. It is crucial to have necessary medication with you. First, think about medication you use at home. Chances are you'll need these during your trip as well. Additionally, it is important to carry some medications for possible infections as a precaution. Also, think of your yellow book, or vaccination passport. In case something happens to you, you can always show it to indicate what you have been vaccinated against. Furthermore, it is essential to protect yourself against potential diseases transmitted by insects. The best way to do so is with backpack clothing that is impregnated, combined with DEET. If you want to wear short-sleeved backpack clothing at some point, you can apply DEET to the rest of your uncovered skin. It is also important to always carry disinfectant and a comprehensive first aid kit (preferably with needles, syringes, scalpel, and sutures). In some areas, these materials are scarce. Also, many well-known backpacking countries have different hygiene regulations.
